Architecture students use Turn End for their first building analysis course

We were delighted to assist first-year students on the Bachelors Architecture course from TU Delft in The Netherlands with their first building analysis course “House, Garden, Landscape”. We sent floor plans, elevation drawings, plant lists and photos to students on the Foundation 1 course, which, along with their own research, they used to discover the design principles and motivations behind the Turn End house and garden project for themselves.

During the 5-week course first-year architecture students learn to analyse the design principles behind projects on the scale of houses and gardens. Every year the course tutors look for new projects to keep the course innovative and this year they chose Turn End.

Architect Gary Collins, chair of Turn End Trust, said "I think the project that the University set is an excellent and vital starting for place for students to really look at spaces and how they interact".

We’ve really loved looking at the student portfolio by Djoeke Marres and Nikki Potze. Thank you Djoeke and Nikki for sharing this with us!
